Intarsia

Intarsia is a woodworking technique that is comprised of assorted shapes, sizes, and types of wood joined together to form an illusion of depth in the completed picture. It was developed during the Renaissance and is pronounced [in-tahr-see-uh]

Tips
malletCut pieces no larger than 4 inches
malletCut the easiest parts first
malletPlan your cuts carefully
malletKeep checking for fit
malletUse sharp saw blades
malletCheck your saw to make sure the blade is square
malletUse a test piece of wood before you start
malletMake sure the cuts are smooth
malletYou can use either a scrollsaw or band saw
malletApply a finish when completed
