Intarsia is a woodworking technique that is comprised of assorted shapes, sizes, and types of wood joined together to form an illusion of depth in the completed picture. It was developed during the Renaissance and is pronounced [in-tahr-see-uh]

Tips
Cut pieces no larger than 4 inches
Cut the easiest parts first
Plan your cuts carefully
Keep checking for fit
Use sharp saw blades
Check your saw to make sure the blade is square
Use a test piece of wood before you start
Make sure the cuts are smooth
You can use either a scrollsaw or band saw
Apply a finish when completed
